LADIES!
Time to name (and shame) the mental load!
The single biggest obstacle / objection / excuse we hear at the gym?
I DON’T HAVE TIME!
I know, we have platitudes, stories, analogies to smash that excuse:
* “I don’t have time” is the adult version of “the dog ate my homework”
* You make time for the things that are important to you
* Spend the time now, to have extra time later
Etc, etc, etc
But the truth is, we know how busy your lives are, and this week my Sister shared with me something that smacked me personally right in the face!
You’re cooking dinner, answering work emails, calling the tradie, and getting the kids bathed. All at the same time. It’s no wonder you feel like you’re an octopus, juggling tasks. All of this work you do is invisible, ongoing, exhausting and, mostly, unrewarding. Want to know what it’s called? And better still, how to banish it?

Have your husbands listen too, in fact, make a point of making the time, (record the Walking Dead and watch it later!), to listen together and have an honest talk about it, and whatever it means in your household.
Perhaps making the time for yourself, and your health, will be easier with someone else helping to carry the mental load.
My first pledge is to take over the mental load of the household budget, I’ll make the time and make the effort to carry that load 100% myself.
Edit: When I told my wife I wanted to take over the budgeting to ease her mental load, she asked me instead to (simply) 100 % take over responsibility for the evening meals on Tuesday and Sunday. However, and whatever I want to do, as long as Dorinda doesn’t have to think about it at all – easy peasy fellas! It doesn’t have to be a big deal 🙂
What’s the one thing you would like to completely let go of, and have someone carry, right now?
What do you pledge?
