Most people get the concept of metabolism confused. It is not how much weight loss or fat you burn – although that is a small part of it.
Your Metabolism is the sum of all the chemical processes going on inside your body at all times – that means the activity of your; heart, lungs, spleen, liver, kidneys, intestine, stomach, brain, muscles etc 24/7. If it is a cell and it is attached to your body, then it is part of your metabolism.
So if you want to know how to ‘speed up your metabolism’ so-to-speak, really what you’re asking is how to improve the function and health of the entire human body and of course that includes (but is not limited to) your food and your exercise. This is something we will be talking about in our free June Metabolism Workshops.
The way most people do it is actually slowing their metabolism down and making them unwell, and it’s so common you are probably making these same mistakes.
Having a so-called ‘fast’ metabolism is not a good idea either – without a certain level of resilience a fast metabolism can catabolise your body faster. That is the break down of cells/tissues etc. In other words – faster aging.
Your metabolism is more than fat loss. It’s you, and how you function. The ideal goal is to have a metabolism that is balanced, providing you with energy and a good functioning body – a body that is also more likely to be using body fat easier as fuel.
So, now you know exactly what Metabolism is –
