Meet the team!
Bren Ryan – Head Trainer/Proprietor
Bren became a Personal Trainer after his own weight loss journey. Like a lot of guys, Bren went to the gym a bit, did a bit of sport, but up until his thirties, didn’t worry too much about nutrition. He pretty much ate whatever and never struggled with his weight. In 2004 however, Bren suffered a badly broken leg in a training accident. After a long period of inactivity through the healing process, and not eating well, Bren managed to get his weight up to about 135 – 140 kgs (he doesn’t really know, as he stopped weighing in at 130 kgs!)
At that point the doctor made it very clear that losing weight was not a choice, but a necessity. Bren lost about forty kgs, weighing at his lightest at 89 kg. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it.
When Bren realised in 2010 that he was not happy running his first business, he had to self reflect and work out what was really important to him. He realised that helping other people achieve big goals was not only important, but brought much joy to his life. He then made a choice to follow his passion and help other people make the breakthroughs around diet and exercise that he had to.
Expertise: Personal Training, Group Training, Weight Loss Coaching, Boxing, Metafit, Martial Arts.
Matt has been a Personal Trainer since 2003 and has trained people to achieve all sorts of goals from climbing mountains to losing 65kgs, and everything in between. Matt’s belief is that consistency is the key to achieving any sort of goal, and educating all of his clients on how to improve their strength, cardiovascular fitness and their mindset will help them get to where they want to be.
Matt spends his ‘spare’ time taking clients to complete multi day treks and adventure fitness challenges as he believes that too many people focus only on their appearance and not on what they can actually achieve with their goals.

Shandelle Cooke – Group Instructor
Shandelle’s journey to weight loss and fitness started around the age of 30.
At 22 years of age she began leading an unhealthy lifestyle, making uneducated and unhealthy choices when it came to buying, cooking and consuming highly processed, sugar filled and high fat (the bad kind) foods.
Her eating began ruling her life and she felt extremely self-conscious, uncomfortable and lacked confidence.
As a professional singer and performer she managed to put on a front and a happy face and got on with the show, even if on the inside she felt worthless and negatively criticized by an audience while in the public eye.
When an opportunity arose to perform on Cruise Ships around the world, requiring her to be an ‘acceptable size’ to fit costumes, it gave Shandelle a clear reason to change her unhealthy habits almost immediately.
Cutting out all the ‘bad’ foods and replacing them with healthy alternatives saw her lose a total of around 50 kilos over the following two and a half years. Of course, this was supported by 4 to 6 workouts in the week consisting of mostly weightlifting and boxing.
As a performer and simply as a person, her confidence restored, going from a size 22 down to a size 10. She had gained so much knowledge through practicing healthy living, that she went on to certify in fitness studies, to be able to educate, motivate and inspire others to do the same.
As a fitness instructor and Personal Trainer for five years now, Shandelle specialises in many areas of the fitness study and is an advanced certified boxing trainer. She absolutely loves the vibe of teaching a group class!
The reward she now receives from seeing clients achieve their results, big or small, through their own journey, is a feeling like no other.
Tonci Prusac – Group Instructor
Tonci (Ton-chee) has been a personal trainer since 2009. Tonci ran his own PT studio, New Level PT Newtown, for three years, before deciding in late 2013 to downsize his business and focus more on training his clients to get achieve real results, as opposed to working on the management of the business.
Tonci enjoys the dynamics of group training sessions, and at the same time the more focussed, intense, intimate and trusting nature of one-on-one training.
Tonci believes it is important, in this day and age of rather hectic lifestyles, to maintain a good work/life balance and this is where regular exercise, combined with healthy, wholesome nutrition is not just a desirable outcome but a MUST!
“There is too much stress in our society today, which leads to anxiety, which leads to depression. This can all be combatted with a balanced exercise/nutrition program that fits in well with our daily schedules and commitments.”
