Meet the team!
Bren Ryan – Head Trainer/Proprietor
Bren became a Personal Trainer after his own weight loss journey. Like a lot of guys, Bren went to the gym a bit, did a bit of sport, but up until his thirties, didn’t worry too much about nutrition. He pretty much ate whatever and never struggled with his weight. In 2004 however, Bren suffered a badly broken leg in a training accident. After a long period of inactivity through the healing process, and not eating well, Bren managed to get his weight up to about 135 – 140 kgs (he doesn’t really know, as he stopped weighing in at 130 kgs!)
At that point the doctor made it very clear that losing weight was not a choice, but a necessity. Bren lost about forty kgs, weighing at his lightest at 89 kg. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it.
When Bren realised in 2010 that he was not happy running his first business, he had to self reflect and work out what was really important to him. He realised that helping other people achieve big goals was not only important, but brought much joy to his life. He then made a choice to follow his passion and help other people make the breakthroughs around diet and exercise that he had to.
Expertise: Personal Training, Group Training, Weight Loss Coaching, Boxing, Metafit, Martial Arts.
Matt Jolley – Manager/Group Instructor
Matt has been a Personal Trainer since 2003 and has trained people to achieve all sorts of goals from climbing mountains to losing 65kgs, and everything in between. Matt’s belief is that consistency is the key to achieving any sort of goal, and educating all of his clients on how to improve their strength, cardiovascular fitness and their mindset will help them get to where they want to be.
Matt spends his ‘spare’ time taking clients to complete multi day treks and adventure fitness challenges as he believes that too many people focus only on their appearance and not on what they can actually achieve with their goals.
Payje Brewster – Group Instructor
Payje first started her fitness journey in 2014, with a bodybuilding style of training, she always loved being in the weights section, this style of training then lead her to meet my partner today who is a powerlifter.
She found out about the world of powerlifting and couldn’t believe the human body is capable of so much, from here she never looked back.
Payje decided right then and there this is it and quickly became addicted to lifting heavy weights. She became a personal trainer because she wants to improve people’s lives for the better and share the experience of reaching your goals with proper guidance. Payje knows you are stronger than you think!
Time to switch on and get Strong!
Tonci Prusac – Group Instructor
Tonci (Ton-chee) has been a personal trainer since 2009. Tonci ran his own PT studio, New Level PT Newtown, for three years, before deciding in late 2013 to downsize his business and focus more on training his clients to get achieve real results, as opposed to working on the management of the business.
Tonci enjoys the dynamics of group training sessions, and at the same time the more focussed, intense, intimate and trusting nature of one-on-one training.
Tonci believes it is important, in this day and age of rather hectic lifestyles, to maintain a good work/life balance and this is where regular exercise, combined with healthy, wholesome nutrition is not just a desirable outcome but a MUST!
“There is too much stress in our society today, which leads to anxiety, which leads to depression. This can all be combatted with a balanced exercise/nutrition program that fits in well with our daily schedules and commitments.”
